Hi! My name is Tammy Riska. I am currently a substitute teacher. I taught in Illinois for several years before moving to Wisconsin. Upon moving to Wisconsin, I taught 2 years before leaving teaching to stay at home with my children. After 11 years of being at home, I entered back into classroom through substitute teaching. Which leads me to my present day status. What started off as casually subbing in the classroom, has turned into a part time/full time job. I have kept up my teaching license by taking 6 credit hours every 5 years. Recently I have taken 2 courses in technology. Having been out of the classroom for so long, I felt it was important to stay up on the newest technology being used in the classroom. It has help me tremendously with my subbing. I am more confident walking into a classroom and feel I can really help student while I am there vs just being a body in the classroom to monitor students while their teacher is away.
