Due to cutting Physical Education class time, recess and a bigger focus on test scores, Brain Breaks are becoming more popular in classrooms. A Brain Break is short, energizing bursts of activity that boosts blood flow, sends oxygen to the brain, and help kids better retain information. It is said that it improves students' concentration and relieves stress. Research shows it is helpful to have a brain break once every 25-30 minutes. It should last anywhere from 1-3 minutes. Not only is it beneficial for students but teachers as well. Movement turns the brain on! It helps get the wiggles out and students stay focused.
